I remember going out after school and training with my dad. I went on to run at Bucknell University as a middle distance runner trying my best to avoid any races over than 1500m (other than during cross-country season). After college, I took a break, stopped training, and just basically got lazy. I soon realized how much I missed running and competing though and, I don’t know how (I think maybe my dad suggested it), I stumbled across a triathlon and decided to enter it. I knew I'd be fine with the biking and running but swimming? Yikes! I really could barely swim and even after months of trying to learn, I could still barely make it through a few laps. I did survive my first race, despite the totally embarrassing swim, and actually really enjoyed myself. I’ve come a long way!

5 things we should know about you:

I work as a physical therapist
I am a huge hockey fan-Go Flyers!
I have dual citizenship-I am Canadian and American
I love all outdoor activities
I make my own beer (with the help of my husband!)

How did you first get into triathlons?

I was a D1 college runner and started racing triathlon to stay competitive and fell in love with the sport.

What was the first race you ever participated in and what place did you finish?

Some small race in Harrisburg, PA.
